We live in a day and age where honor isn't a primary characteristic that people strive to achieve and maintain. It is sad but it seems that people have to be very wary of whom they meet at first. First impressions don't mean much anymore, especially with the Hollywood portraying crime and con games as exciting, fun and very lucrative. Without getting into a rant on the subject I would just like to say that there are no guarantees in life, and certainly not in the moving industry. I don’t mean to sound pessimistic but my own experience along with the stories I hear from my customers, only solidify the truth that moving companies are well known for taking the customer for most of what they can.

Are we DIFFERENT???

I have to yes, emphatically YES, we are different and we can back that up with several hundred references dating back to 1994. When I started ACE NW Moving back in the mid 90's the California exodus to the Northwest was in full swing and there were literally dozens of ''pirate' companies operating in and around the Portland and Vancouver areas. The people moving here would have never been able to rely just on the big national companies. At that time the moving industry  was strictly, and vehemently regulated by the State's PUC agencies; the pirate companies thrived even without the legal permits they needed to operate above the law. It wasn't that the more honorable of the pirates didn't want to be completely legal, no, the bureaucrats, still tied to the apron strings of the once mighty teamsters union kept the regulations for moving household goods in place years longer than it was justifiable to do so. I could transport nuclear waste from Hanford to Oregon without a PUC permit, but Household goods, no way Jose, much to dangerous. The bottom line was that if you couldn't hire an attorney for 20 or 30 grand to represent you in court you were not going to get a permit. The only other way to obtain was to know someone from Sicily if you get my drift.

Well, those days are gone for the most part. It still is nearly impossible to get a transporting permit, but the State of Oregon made it possible to obtain permits for Pack and Load termed companies. What this entails is/was that you now could operate legally if you were insured and paid the price for the permit but you still couldn't provide the truck. Pretty darn silly and those apron strings I mentioned, well, mamma isn't entirely ready to let them go just yet. So what we have now is Pack and Load companies that have to prove they are insured and thus satisfy the customers need for security in that regard. Many, like our company still provide trucks for your local moves . Yes, our company can be cited for providing a truck without a permit, but we continue to stand firm that it is our constitutional right to compete for the same business as any other moving company. In the matter of insurance, (the only valid argument in regards to operating with or without a permit), there is no need for concern with ACE. Our own 250,000 dollar handlers and cargo insurance coverage, (required by the State), along with the leasing agencies full value protection, plus any homeowners insurance policy that includes moving insurance, etc; is more than adequate for any job.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS IF WE CAN'T INSURE IT WE WON'T MOVE IT.

At ACE we can legally move you from one State to another completely, 100% legally, without fear of retribution from the PUC's or ODOT's in any State in America. The Federal government long ago saw the unconstitutional flaws in their regulating moving companies and thus interfering with those Americans, (who fought wars, raised honorable children, stood for positive change in their communities and the nation), right to practice free trade, infringing on their constitutional right to own and operate a business that is and was honorable to the core, and yes, even those other companies that will steal you blind and misplace your property have a right to seek capital gain as is set forth in our constitution. It is for this reason only that we are including this information.

We at ACE are not trying to take pot shots at the local and State governments but they must know that we will not stop operating and offering our customers the best service and lowest rates available just because they want to continue to appease the same companies who have had a monopoly on the moving industry since Vito Corleone decided that the olive oil business needed some financial supplementation. No, we will take our case to the highest court in the land just as one of our brother companies did and win, (like he did) our right to operate a completely legal vehicle on the highways of America, provide the price we think is fair, (not the price the other companies say we should charge), and give the best service available as is our right as Americans.
